walkaway dress

The McCall Pattern Company at The Knitting & Stitching Show, Alexandra Palace.

In March the ‘Walkaway Dress’ (B4790) featured on The Great British Sewing Bee.

Thousands of sewers in the UK have been inspired to buy the pattern and create their own version of this Butterick classic, sharing pictures of their Walkaway Dresses on Facebook and Twitter, on their blogs and sewing websites.

In fabric stores around the country, ‘Walkaway Workshops’ have been held, so whatever a sewer’s skill level, they have been able to create their own unique ‘Walkaway Dress’.
Every pattern we’ve sold has included a contribution to the Eve Appeal Charity.

We are delighted to be hosting an afternoon tea to celebrate the ‘Walkaway’ phenomenon on Wednesday 7th October at The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, London.

We hope you will join us and our sewing celebrity guests, to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea and to help us make the presentation of the cheque to the Eve Appeal charity.

Tickets are selling fast, so don’t delay in booking your tickets.
If you haven’t made your dress yet, there’s still time.

After all, the dress gained its name in 1952 because it is ‘so easy, you can start it after breakfast … walk-away in it for luncheon!’
