Announcing December’s Design Challenge Themes
Jewel-Tone ‘70s | Entries Due by December 3
This week’s challenge is extra groovy! Hop into your muscle car because we’re taking a trip to the 1970s and challenging you to design a repeating pattern that embodies the free spirit of this decade. Whether it’s a ditzy floral print, boho designs fit for home decor (to match the shag carpet at home!) or just the right pattern for a children’s prairie dress, be sure to stick with colors like sapphire blue, ruby red, amethyst purple, citrine yellow, and emerald green for an elevated jewel-toned design.
Entries will be previewed at the fat quarter size: 21” x 18”. Submissions close December 3 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Voting begins December 5. Winners will be announced December 12.
Pop Art Citrus | Entries Due by December 10
Are you ready to squeeze the day? We’re challenging you to show us your best technicolor take on citrus fruits inspired by the artists who led the way in the pop art movement. This is no time for still life paintings: bright color palettes and glamorous design choices will help make your fruity concoctions pop. Do your very zest designers because this is the last design challenge of 2019!

In recognition of Christmas and New Years, there will be no weekly challenges the week of December 23 and 30. Stay tuned to the blog for January themes announced on Friday, December 6. We can’t wait to see what you design in 2020!
