Exciting update to our Spoonflower products
Big news! As you’re a designer who sells on Spoonflower, I want you to be among the first to know that we will soon be launching select home decor products on Spoonflower.com. And, we’ll be rolling out a bigger launch of this exciting new shopping experience to the rest of our community in the coming days.
It is our hope that in broadening the reach of home decor items by bringing them into the Spoonflower fold, your designs will be presented to a wider range of shoppers and attract a higher volume of sales. Additionally, I’m thrilled to report that, as with fabric yardage and wallpaper, your 10% designer discount will now apply to the printed fabric portion of home decor purchases of your own designs as well.
By refining our production process, we’ve increased efficiencies in the way we print bedding and select table linens. This means that we print less fabric to make the same product, reducing waste. Since commissions of every sale are based on the retail value of the amount of fabric used to make a home decor product, you may soon notice a change to select bedding and table linen commissions that are around US$1-3 less than before, depending on the product.
While you can opt-into selling your designs on home decor, you currently cannot choose which designs are available on different products (just as on Roostery). However, our team is hard at work to make this an option in the future. Unlike Roostery, you will be able to see the name of the user who purchased a home decor item from your Spoonflower shop, as long as they are logged into their account, making it easier to send a thank you note!
We plan to move the entire Roostery product catalog to the Spoonflower site over the next several months and will consolidate into one brand to better serve our customers. However, we will continue to sell home decor on Roostery through the end of the year.
