Traditional Irish Bread-making in my Thatched Barn on the shores of beautiful Strangford Lough.

Join me on a Traditional Irish Bread making experience set in my kitchen on the shores of Strangford Lough in County Down, Northern Ireland. We start our session with a traditional Irish Fruit Soda Cake. This is a sweet treat and delicious with lots of homemade Irish butter.  While the Fruit Soda Cake is baking in the stove oven, we will make some potato bread or fudge as we call it. We will add fillings of your choice to the potato mix – scallions or cheese. We will also make Soda Bread – my favourite! We have various alternatives for the Soda Bread – which you may or not add as you please – treacle, currants and sultanas or cinnamon.

Then for the sweet tooth, traditional Tray-bakes:

Tray-bakes are a typical sweet treat from Northern Ireland – they come from this area. We will make a delicious Traybake which will be delicious served with a nice strong coffee or cup of our local brew!

You will take home a bag filled with your handmade products and all of the recipes that we made here in my kitchen.
