Our knitwear of this week is an Apple-green jumper or sweater with a double welt by Anino Ogunjobi.
This sweater was knitted on the LK150 knitting machine using double knitting yarn in 100% acrylic.
Anino designed the sweater as a cardigan but then she decided to turn it into a jumper after knitting it; so she sewed the middle of the cardigan to close the opening, thereby leaving a little opening on top (close to the neck of the sweater).
The first welt (small welt) was the welt designed for the cardigan (that she turned into a sweater), She decided to increase the length of the cardigan after she turned it into a sweater/jumper by knitting a larger welt and stitching/sewing it to the sweater (a nice way of extending a short knitted garment).
