Transition is a fundamental part of life and the world we live in. Physical, emotional, relational, chemical, natural, seasonal, historical – transition occurs in many forms and on many levels.
This year, How2hats is challenging you to create an original hat or headpiece using the concept of transition as the starting point for your design.
There are no restrictions on the materials or techniques that you can use.
This is an abstract theme which can be interpreted in any number of ways – be as creative as possible!
Four winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges who will be looking at quality of workmanship as well as originality of design and theme interpretation. The winners will receive the following prizes:
1st Prize
A 5-day Millinery Workshop at Chateau Dumas
2nd Prize
£250 (GBP) voucher for Guy Morse-Brown Hat Blocks
3rd Prize
$150 (USD) of Wool Felt Products from Judith M
4th Prize
A selection of books from How2hats
In addition, all four winners will be given a 1-year subscription to HATalk e-magazine.
